Something new, something fresh, something historical! Total War - Saga(s), historical DLC / expansion packs aimed for R2TW and ATW.

More info here - https://www.totalwar.com/blog/a-total-war-saga-announce-blog/

Definitely something similar to FoTS / Charlemagne DLC pack. And judging by the screenshots - its Britain!

Some bits of info:

It’s more about focus. There might be as many playable factions or conquerable territories in them, but that could all be focussed down to one specific region or country and a particular point in time.

In fact, we’ve done it before. Fall of the Samurai is exactly the kind of thing we’re talking about here. It was a standalone spin-off from Total War: SHOGUN 2, focussed on the pivotal event of the Boshin War. A concentrated Total War game which puts you right in the middle of a really dynamic moment of history, where the outcome could have gone in a huge number of different directions.

If you liked Fall of the Samurai, and the kind of gameplay we delivered with it, then you’re going to enjoy what we’ve got planned for our first Saga title. But it’s important to say that it isn’t our next major historical release. It is an iteration on a previous game, built on something we’ve already released.

Thoughts?

So Campaigns as Stand Alone instead of (cheaper) DLC

Also from link

another spiritual follow-up to Total War: ROME II, like Total War: ATTILA, and moves the time period forward in much the same way

And further Q&A linked at the bottom https://forums.totalwar.com/discussion/196353/a-total-war-saga-q-a

I shouldn't complain too hard, more historical titles is better than fewer
But I'm gonna be pissed if they are not only $tand-alone but also DL€ riddled :soapbox:

Don't recognise the coastline.

Meanwhile I've recently got M2 Kingdoms running again with Third Age mod + Leo's Alternative patch 4.9 running, some transition issues but really enjoying new Dwarves & custom settlements ~D

The coastland is Ireland. You can see Dublin. Not very excited about Western Europe, again and again and again, and by then, it's like usual routine. When will an actually innovative historical game begin?

Attila ends around 470+480?

Correct me if I'm mistaken.

In all honesty, it should be a fine addition to the campaigns. Charlemagne DLC is quite cool and FoTS is a really good DLC pack.
