another odd thing i noticed the other day....

I started a new GA campaign as the Poles. On about turn 3 or 4 i sent my princess off to be wed to a German prince for an alliance. They happily accepted the alliance. But she did not get married, she even got a star of valour for her efforts (crafty wench) just like an Emersary would but she was definately a princess. Later on she did successfully marry an Italian prince.

So what happened there? Did she just sleep with the prince for an alliance and then stand him up at the altar? If so, I like it http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I guess they wanted the alliance but didn't have a free heir to marry your girl. Maybe a little extra-marital dalliance occurred, who's to say?

yep jas is right when a faction doesnt have a hier you can still get an alliance and keep the princess..

however , if this the case , there should be a message saying that this faction has no single men of royal blood and the princess will propose an alliance and if there are any free onesby that time she is gonna marry as well.did this message appear?

No i didnt see any messages like that they just accepted the alliance and i noticed next turn she was still there and had gained a valour star (and a twinkle in her eye http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif )

You should try to marry her off again, just to see what happens.
Worst that could happen is that you get another alliance, I suppose.

good idea http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif , maybe you can marry her to an other faction and then the 2 factions will fight for her grace , she can be the medieval Helen of Troy http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

The 2nd time she did get married to an Italian prince, must have been better looking or something http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I wonder if that will lead to war between Germany and Italy if that disgruntled prince comes to power? Or maybe the German just had a secret perversion http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/eek.gif

Sounds to me like the Germans turned her against you, and now she's spying against you AND the Italians for the Germans...

Most likely, the last of the remaining heirs got hitched prior to her arrival in the Royal court...or maybe not.

If the princess was a couple of provinces away, and there was an unmarried heir, there would be no "no unmarried heirs" message when the princess was dropped on the emmisary or king. Then -- if by the time she reaches the court all of the heirs are now married...*presto* she changes from 'hot babe' to 'skilled emmisary'. Of course, if it takes several years to reach the court, the 'hot babe' idea starts to fade... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif
