I apologize if this has been answered elsewhere, but how does Activision plan to sell VI? Will it be like MI, an internet purchase, or will it be sold in stores as a seperate pack with box and all?
well i dont know about you but ive seen MI in stores, so i take it they will sell it via the shopfront

They may have done that in Australia, but in the US, MI was a pay-download, and the only storefront option was buying the Warlord Edition. This made me wonder if the same course of action would be taken. And I also think that the publisher is to decide this, and the new publisher Activision may have different plans for the sale.
I bought my copy of Mi from the shop here in the UK.I was assuming this would be the same for viking.I hope it is as I dont have a cd burner for downloaded version and also I like having the box to display.Gona go and look now to c if I can pre order it http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
I also hope, that we can buy it in shops, because larger downloads sometimes have CRC-errors and don“t work properly and then i would not know how to get the addon without paying and downloading it a second time.

I am worried that the TW games are considered "cult" games in the US, which might be the attitude responsible for the MI addon not being distributed in stores.

anything where you dont
a. drive a car
b. expend 200 rounds a minute
c. have 100 hit points
is considered a cult game.
the 12-16 year age group are the masses we older guys are the cult.
i always wanted to be part of a cult. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smokin.gif
edit. lol just thinking that the anti smoking lobby would have a fit if it realised that most forums use a guy smoking a cigarette to illustrate something that is cool and funky http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smokin.gif
esp consider many forums are populated by the under 20's. a major risk group for smoking.

Cult, huh? Fine by me. If I've learned anything(and I know anything), its that anything that isn't esoteric or "cult"...

Also, I believe that by strict definition the Catholic church is a cult
MI was "On-line order only" in the US but then the game was developed by EA, which base in Europe I think.
I just check EB site, they have it on pre-order for $29.99 USD. The game has the ship date of 5/20/03.

Yep...here in the States, EBGAMES is your best bet.
I wouldn't recommend Best Buy...they are notorious for
um, "poor service". http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif

In Spain we have to purchase MI (a box qith a CD) like it was another game in the shop...I think it was the same in all european countries.
