i read the interview and i think it is safe to say CA is out to make innovative games!!

i think shogun is a GIANT step in the right direction for the RTS genre!!

but what i was questioning was in his statement on the next totalwar game??

i thought it was already announced that it`s going to be a Romans game? are we in for a surprise??

and another thing, if they`re going to be working on GC and xbx games i definitely think xbx is the ideal platform for a totalwar game!! allthough RTS games don`t play very well on consoles i think it would be interesting to see a "totalwar" game ported to the xbx?

and personnaly i think gaming is an art form.

webter`s definition of ART -

1. a. the activity of creating beautiful things b. works, as paintings, poetry, music,
etc. 2.the liberal arts 3.a craft or skill 4.
cunning.

when i look at thousands of soldiers all in perfect formation i know the "DESIGNERS" of this game "CREATED" of work of art?

Hey man, long time no see http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

The announcement about the new game being Roman is not official just yet, but whatever's gonna happened it will be revieled in the Aug 2nd edition of the UK version of PC Gamer. There will also be an on-line announcement made in next friday's honour day at the community site.

To be honest I am much more interested in the expansion release, but the Totalwar 2 announcement will certainly be note worthy.

Yeah, currently I'm waiting more for the exp pack than the Part 2. I hope though that the total war exp pack will not be Roman (yet! and I know i belong to the minority). I know I maybe alone with this but I prefer some kind of a fantasy setting and not based on real events.

Personally, I'd like it if CA completely surprised us with Totalwar2 and made it a hypothetical WWIII game in isometric perspective, or something. Wouldn't that just be right out of left field? http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/wink.gif

I, for one, won't be too disappointed if TW2 isn't based on the Romans, although there certainly IS a distinct lack of Roman-based RTS games...

Well since our Hatamoto said that the next totalwar game will be on Crusaders...I am very confused.

Probably he is right: Crusaders: Total War coming. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

"Hey man, long time no see"

yea kurando i`ve been so busy working that i really don`t have much time to post on this site, as you can see i only have about 15 posts. but i still keep up with the shogun community on the internet, and occasionaly i do read the forum.

and actually i`m looking forward to totalwar 2 just as much as i`m looking forward to the ex-pack, in fact i might be looking forward to it a little more than the ex-pack?? so far i think the best feature in the ex-pack is the map editor? i really am questioning some of the units that will appear in the ex-pack like kensai and crossbowmen etc..etc..

but i did download the video and it looks like fun, but what about these new units??
well i will be able to make my own decision real soon!!

but also in the dePlater interview he does say thier are more than double the # of units found in shogun- which will give us more variety!!! http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

it should be a good game but i am anxious to see what the future holds??!!??!?

(siege weapons anyone??)

Did someone say Crusades? I am salivating! That shall be such fun! Shall I leave Richie some milk and cookies? But I don't have a chimney! Let's all sing for he! I hope it snows! 'Don't bring the Naganita!' I know I hear! [insert smiley face here]
