I have recently purchased PCGamer with exciting article on the up and coming Rome Totalwar. What was really interesting is that in big bold headlines it announces RTW will be availble in FEB 2003. Is that a printing error?...............or am I wrong?
It also has the movie on disc

It would represent some of the worst marketing strategy ever.
"Hey guys, lets release our new, better game while the old one has only been out a few months and is selling well."
"I know we can then release an add on for the first one that no-one will then buy"
"Great idea, but I think to really do well, we should not tell anyone anything about it until it's almost released to really build up the interst"
"Brilliant that's our pay for the year earnt, who fancies a pint"
"Me"
"Me too"

the feb 2003 was the release date for the news article, the inclusion of that date slipped past the author, the editor and the proof readers,
apparently everyone was so stunned with the promises for Rome that their brains slipped a few gears.... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

HEY Fearless
Sorry to say so - it´s old news and the disc has the allready known "Rome-teaser" on it.
Let´s face it:
Rome will be out for christmas and if we´re lucky we can expect a demo next fall http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/mecry.gif
Oi, cheer up folks
What's the problem? There's still lots to explore in MTW; the extended debates on this forum can't be wrong.
With a release date around christmas, there's still time for the folks at CA to check out our reccomandations, so that RTW will live up to our demands and expectations.
A release already in a month or two, would only mean that RTW = MTW+10% (or so).
Be cool folks http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smokin.gif

KingDavid : Yeah I'd like to play Patrician... If only I could find it. Even on Ascaron's website, the game is sold out
Concerning RTW, well, I've read elsewhere that end 2004 was more realistic. Bah, I'll have more time to mod or play mods...

I never pay too much attention to the hype from CA or these other game makers. You wont be disapointed if you just do with what you have. In this case, MTW is what I have and I enjoy the hell out of it while I have it. RTW is nothing but hype at the moment and as a veteran PC game player (Since Commodore 64) If what you have works and you enjoy it, Play to your hearts content. I also found that New games take time to patch and all the other stuff that comes along with it so Altho its nice to know its coming I dont realy give a rats @$^SS about it since I don't have it or play it. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif
