I downloaded the Patrician Mod and its fantastic. The question is what is the differnce between all the roman units?
They all practically look the same and fight the same from my opinion.

Most units look alike, it's because they use the same image but have different stats, its the same with the real game. Hope that helps.

yeah I know that, but what are their purpose? If you click on the unit they have same abilities so how do discern which is used for anti-cav and such?

Thanks allot for the compliment. All the info about it is posted in the dungeon section of the org in the patrician available thread.
Each cohort (Unit) of the Roman Republic serves a different purpose. Some are heavy inf others light inf others serve as anti cav such as the hastatii (Red Devils) and yet others are light infantry. They may seem similar but they are all different units. Also when in game look at the unit info to get an idea of each unit function and identity.
