Oh my today while playing with the Turkish, the Spanish has managed to wipe out both Almohads and Egyptians and they are bordering me at Egypt and Sinai. They're stacking up on units with about 6000 troops (I also fought a previous battle where I was outnumbered 6000 vs 1000, and BARELY won) and well I'm like all broke up with the Mongols still harrassing around in the north. So I decided it's time to put those assassins I've been using to pick on priests and cardinals to do some real work. After just 3 years, I assassinated all the Spanish king's heirs, but I couln't assassinate the king since he had like 7 command stars. But, Lady Luck smiled at me and voila The Spanish King dies of illness and boom from Egypt to Castile everything's turned into rebel territory Well then I dun need to tell the rest =]

As Russians, my long time (150+years) allies the Egyptians ticked me off so much when they decided to break our alliance and attack me, that I went nuts in a 5 year massacre of all things Egyptians. Managed to assassinate all the Sultan's heirs and minimize the Egyptian forces down to two armies...the Sultan's and his top general's.
Both were trapped in the same province (Hungary) and after a long, hard fought battle, I slayed the Sultan and that was all that was left of that faction.

When all was killed and done, I had taken 90percent of what used to belong to the Egyptians...including Hungary, Bulgaria, Greece, Constantinople, ALL of Asia Minor and half of the "Middle East" area.

I was the Byz and the Turkish were quickly taking over the Iberian Peninsula and Western Europe from the Almohads and I got the message that the Turkish Sultan had died. I saw the new Sultan was in Rum with a small amount of troops. I saw my chance and attacked, and managed to kill their king. Playing as the HRE I was doing very well ,when I started to get threats of excommunication .(as usual) So I let the pope tick me off and I went in and took the entire Italian peninsula in 7 turns and parked quite a few armies there just knowing the pesky pope would pop up again so I could pound him. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif

One time I was the byz and owned half map. Frequently I would go out on a pillaging spree forcing most of the provinces to go rebel. Well my king died and a civil war broke which lasted 3 years. As soon as my empire united all of the rebels joined me. I got about 10 provinces that way.

Yesterday I (Italians) took the five provinces of England & Scotland in two turns, off the wussy English and the degenerate rebels left over from their recent civil war. Had five armies lined up in Leon, had naval superiority, dropped them all in one to a province on the same turn, and then mopped up any troops left in the castles on the next turn. My remaining assault troops became the provincial garrisons, and their generals had been previously hand-picked for accumen/loyalty and thus were appointed as the governors. No fuss, no mess ..

as the byzantines i controlled the whole of italy and switzerland and my armies had been massing there for a couple of years...i was getting worried by 4 stacks of french right next to me i invaded and then proceeded to smash that army and took the whole of france in 3 turns http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif

In the early period, as the English, I took all of France minus one province in one turn. I introduced blitzkrieg to Europe a good 800 or so years early, hehe. HRE took the other province because we both attacked it at once, were allies, and they had the larger force. Ahh well... not bad for a MTW n00b.

My biggest land grab was 6 provinces out of the 7 that the Russians had. For that I used 8 or 9 armies of 960 men each. The Russians opted not to defend in some of the provinces but lost all troops that didn't fit into castles as the provinces they planned to retreat to where taken in the same year. I also took the 5 states of the Papacy in one year. The same happened to England but they were small and were attacked simultaneously by the French, who in turn lasted for 2 years once I hit them. In general, I don't start wars unless I think I can win them very swiftly.

I was playing as the Egyptians in the early-campaign, and had backed down the turks who had earlier attacked and taken my precious antioch. I had pushed them into Edessa and was there counterattacked by the Turkish Sultan and a huge army of cavalry and mounted archers, along with their usual assortment of infantry. I had just moved in this 2 valor mangonel behemoth that I had purchased off the mercenary market the year before. The battle began with their army pursuing a flanking maneuver, and lo, the first shot off from my mangonel killed the sultan. After the battle (in which, I won, thanks to the behemoth), I realized the sultan had no heirs...

with za Spanish i took France, Germany, Poland and a good proportion of Hungry in 7 Years - took a dozen armies and a set of dozy AI's (never seen so many peasants EVER) but i managed it
