I guess somebody already noticed this, anyway,
u can place your units in the spot u want , even when on attack
Use artillery units to pick the spot (only unit moveble in attack setup)place it, and then replace your troops with a reserve one.
and so and on. U do have to have one arty unit and 17 units in the attacking force.

Useful to know but sooo fiddly
I wish you could at least pick smarter formations even if you cant chose the map location.
hmm..very clever. You've earned a little pat on the noggin http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/pat.gif
In chimpanzee that means "you're ok'

I would have to say that is the most CHEESIEST tactic i have ever seen on this board.
That being said, i am a huge fan of cheese, and cannot wait to get home after work to try this.

hehe, maybe a CHEESIEST tactic, but,
the problem is, u can hardly use catapults on attack, coz u can't move them,(sadly, not even slowly).
the risk u then have is to place the catapult way in front, but being in danger of overrun in the first minute of the battle.
I you could move artillery (with wheels) in battle, this wouldn't be a problem.

I hope in TW:Rome you'll be able tu push catapults around.
Any chance it can be modded in TW:M?

Nice idea silencer ill try that tonight (moving artillery that is http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif ) although i doubt it , cant be as easy as just changing run and charge speed those stats will be for the crew http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/frown.gif
to do that you have to edit the project text file, towards the end of the string (i think) it says can be moved and can be turned. Just replace the "n" with "y".
