Ok I have 1600 men and attacked a province (flat land) with 550. I used the AC method and let me tell you, I had 154 kills nad 675 losses Then get this they attack me and I defence sucsesfully but I lost 400 more men to their 200 It's like even if I win I ALWAYS loose more men then they do
maybe they had a better general, or higher valour troops than yours.

There is NO auto-calc cheat
Whoever wrote that musn't be the greatest general.
If you're a decent general auto-calc will ALWAYS give you greater losses than if you fought the battle yourself.

Is there a particular reason you are not fighting the battles yourself? Those who auto-calc are (IMHO) missing out on half the fun of the MTW experience
Auto-Revolve cares about numbers more than anything else. The result will be calculated base on the number of troops of both sides, troop types, valour, general bonus, combat bonus, the total offensive strenght and total defensive strenght then calculate win/lose, kill/lost for each side from there.
The side that has superior quality and quantity will win, usually with minimum lost. If both side are roughly the same, the side that has slight advantage will usually win but with heavy casualties to both sides.
What Tora meant is that if you are good in battle tactic, you could win the battle with much lighter casualties on your sides even when you don't have much or don't have any advantage over the AI.
...and the battles are more than half the fun in MTW.

Ok, so how do you take a fortress or citadel etc. without taking substantial losses? I want to hear this, because with autocalc if you outnumber the AI heavily you usually get almost no losses.
As for the original poster, it probably has a lot to do with the relative troop quality and the level played. If you play on expert the computer gets various bonuses in the field.

I have always notice that Auto-Calc takes a big notice in the ability of Generals on both sides, in addtion to numbers.
Also, I think there is a bias towards in the AI in it to encourage you to play the battles out..

In my opinion, AC is reasonable. The losses are what you might expect if no one uses any tactical advantages (what we usually do when we fight the battles ourselves). However, siege battles are somehow misscalculated. That`s bad because I don`t like them to play, but auto it has something of cheating. If only the AI would attack castles...

Yes, there's said to be a bug whereby the castle isn't taken into account, ie: the troops are compared as if they were on the open battlefield. Obviously this is a huge advantage to the attacker, especially since the defender's numbers are limited to the castle capacity but without the benefit of fortifications, which in my siege defenses usually kill a lot more of the enemy than my troops do.
