Shipping dates

Please excuse my boundless ignorance. The shipping date for Europe is 17th of August. The term "shipping date", does that mean the date the game will be in shops ready to be bought on that day? Or does it mean that is merely the day on which the the game gets shipped to the stores, and thus will not be avaliable on the 17th August. In short, will we in Britain be able to buy the expansion pack on the 17th of August?

I think the stores may have the game before the release date yet can only shelf it when allowed to.

I have just spoken to my store here in Australia and he was not sure so he rang EA and the guy advised him 10/8/2001. Yes 2001! So fingers crossed for Aussies. Next Weekend should be good I can watch the sun rise again.

You Yanks have to realise that the rest of the world uses the dates in the format;
Day
Month
Year
as in 10th day of 8th month 2001 so my post was for the 10th of August.
I used to be in the military and it was rather confusing with use by dates and what country they came from on things that go bang http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif Made you think!
