Ok, I (after about 50 years) dont like controlling my battles. I like em smaller u know? So I turned the default unit size down to small and well, I created a new campaign but it didnt work, peasents still have 100, spearmen were still at 60. What did I do incorrectly? Thank You

Spearmen at 60? That seems right because on Normal the Spearmen units are 100 arent they? Don't qoute me on that though.

You might be right, but arent peasents at 100? They are 100 to on small.

Well, peasents do NEED the extra 40 http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wacko.gif .

I figured it out. Your starting mens unit size doesnt lessen but from then on all men you creat are "small" in unit size.

I've been curious about this for a while as since patching to v1.1 i cant adjust unit size anymore, its stuck on the default (100 spear, 60 sword, 40 cav etc). I dont think i'm missing something obvious, IIRC the slider was in the Options/Game submenu?

you can't change the size if you're running a campaign at the time, so make sure you change it before loading your game.

Yeah, it works the same way for Huge Units too, your starting units are still the defaul size, and you need to speed some time retraining them to get them to full strength...

Could be interesting what retraining would do if you chose small unit...

Retraining becomes more important on Huge Units as it require 2 turns to create new units, but only 1 turn to retrain (even if there are only a couple of guys left...).
