Random questions of mine on the upcoming Viking Invasion Expansion Pack.
If this thread does not belong, then by all means do what is necessary with it. I am very tired so I might miss something.
1: Will there be any new music included for the Vikings or other factions?
2: Will kind of diplomatic system is being incorporated into the Viking era strat game?
3: Do any of the new cav units get to ride ass-kicking jet-black horses?
4: Will gunpowder infantry recieve improved missile power, or would that be inaccurate?
5: How will the game be sold?
6: When will we first get to play an RTW demo? Could it be included in VI?
Thats all for now.

OK, all reasonable questions, and answered in a hopefully reasonable way:
1: Yes, the Vikings Campaign gets new music fror the Vikings. Actually, it gets rather good new music
2: The diplomacy system is much as before - as in you have to drop an emissary on someone to offer a treaty. But given that emissaries are created "late" in the Viking campaign tech tree, princesses become rather important as diplomats as well as potential wives.
3: I've not spotted any ass-kicking jet-black horses as such, no. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
4: There aren't any new gunpowder-based infantry in the pack, as the focus is on a period some 400 years earlier than the arrival of gunpowder in Europe. On the other hand, we've included a new cannon, the Organ Gun, as part of the additional material for the original campaign.
5: The game is coming out as an add-on pack - 1 CD in a DVD-style case plus manual. It'll be available in stores and online retailers.
6: Sorry, the pack won't be including a Rome: Total War demo.

Just wondered: will there be a way to play an early/early Europe wide viking campaign? In the history, they did manage to conquer parts of France, and even Africa; they also ruled most of Russia and Ukraine; at times harassing even the Byzantines.

Still wondering: how abouts extending the M:TW into later centuries? Europe was a mess with a good number of fairly equal rivals all up to the WW II.
