Better be no cheesy tactics allowed or the game will be over really quickly. What? We all start early French or something and see who gains what territories first? I kind of like the idea.

Boring, eh? I haven't been bored in the least, and i've had it since launch. Then again, i keep pretty busy and have lots of other games.

In fact, i get off in about another 40 minutes or so and have thought of nothing more than getting home, having the woman mix me a Tequila Sunrise, and jammin' on some MTW.

Incidentally, do printed recounts of Medieval Battles (like Hastings) get everybody else as riled up about playing MTW as me?

I'd really like to see a mods approval but here goes

Ok time to see whose the best medieval king, sultan, doge, emperor etc etc etc....i will put a set of challenges, and you must complete them(you can go for one or all 3 of them, and you can play them in any order)here they are:

1.with the danish conquer all of europe, without conquering north africa, italy and any Island in the mediterranian.

2.i want a polish flag over three provinces:Egypt,Constantinople and Switzerland.before hitting the late period.

3.as the british reach kazar in the year 1228 or earlier without a crusade

soooo whose brave enough to finish them?Rules are:

1.Unlimited Ammo,Fatigue or Morale is not allowed.
2.No crusades/jihads.
3.Difficulty should be on Normal or higher.
4.No cheesy tactics

I will, however, allow reloading and autoresolving battles http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif good luck and have fun.

Note:once all 3 are completed i will post more challenges.

Indeed, not too hard of a task...

The polish one is rather tricky. Sneaking to Switzerland means MUCH opponents to waste...

Eternal question : is trade a cheesy tactic???

Plz comment on this idea of mine

An idea I had once is to have a "Totalwar.org SP democratic monarchy game", where players are elected to 4 turn terms as leader of an SP game. The stats for each turn will be presented for all to see, and once the term is up elections are held for whether the same player should get another term as monarch, or whether a new leader should be elected from volunteer candidates. If so, the saved game will be sent to the monarch-elect, and his/her 4 turn term begins. Of course, the players who wish to gain a term ought to have a few days to analyze the data from the previous 4 year term and find ways to politically bash/flame http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif the previous monarch's policies and military tactics while touting their own policies and battle plans in a few days of all-out campaigning. This could be heaps of fun if done right. It would add a whole new level of strategy, competition, and fun to the SP game.

if ur bored with mtw just dont play it?

seems pretty simple to me

there are better games out there with mutch more longetivity than mtw.

hopefully if the diplomacy and sp ai get improved i might play mtw for more than a few hours max on sp.

mp is boring too its the same over and over again and to be brutaly honest im fed up with winning most of the time.

I saw a related idea on the Gamespy forum. What they did is several people signed up to play a 'MTW Round Robin'. They played the SP English early Campaign. Each player had the campaign for a fixed # of years. The first player played the campaign for alotted years and then posted their progress in a story format(including screenshots)and then emailed the saved game to the second person who picked up the game where the first player stopped. The second person played the same number of years and then posted progress, etc. and emialed the saved game to the third player and so on.
