Tolkien's Middle-Earth A Gameplay Overhaul for Medieval 2: Third Age - Divide and Conquer v5

Tolkien's Middle-Earth (TM) treats Middle-earth according to the Tolkien's intent, that is, as a mythological history – a coherent and believable world. TM is a project created for those who love Middle-earth. It is a conscious protest against the warhammer style wave that has flooded Middle-earth. The main goal is to restore immersion and atmosphere. All changes are based on insights into the psychology and sociology of the beings of Middle-earth, and where source material is lacking, I turn to the logic and patterns of our own world.

Selected changes:

I am restoring the appearance of Umbar and Dunland units to that of version v4.6.

Brigands and rebels are returning to the map. An expanded system with regional pools in every province.

I am restoring the process of cultural assimilation. Cultural differences once again cause unrest in settlements. The number of free upkeep slots increases with the percentage of a religion's presence in a province.

Profound changes to the military balance.

Faction balance through asymmetry. I am introducing military cultures that define the style and characteristics of a given army.

I am slowing down the gameplay. I am eliminating the "snowball" effect. Large factions are no longer able to effortlessly paint the map their color. Factions with a smaller base are no longer devoured alive in the early stages of the game. They have their own tools for survival and even expansion.

Armor points are strictly tied to the model on the battle map and no longer depend on the unit's level. Armor points correspond to its real, physical properties.

Recruitment and upkeep costs are calculated according to formulas. There are no penalties or bonuses based on race.

Many more is still in my workshop.

Initially, this was a modification I made for myself, as I wasn't entirely pleased with the changes in DaC v5. As I introduced more changes, I thought I would share my work with other players who think similarly.

I would be very grateful for your feedback, comments, and thoughts. The scale of the project also depends on the interest and evaluation from players.

If someone feels like - please feel free to join me in this project :)
