It says in the MTW manual that you can get a Spy to attempt to discover a Generals vices by dropping the Spy on the General, but every time I try this I'm just prompted to frame him for treason? I dont want to kill the poor guy, I'm just curious about him dammit - what gives, any clues anyone?
Also with V&V, are the bonuses or penalties reflected in the viewable stats? I had assumed so until I saw a general with a +2 acumen virtue with only 1 feather. Either the V&Vs are not reflected, or there are hidden ones that are too - either way its kind of screwy isn't it? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

this feature is mainly to be used on enemy generals. i think you can veiw all of ur own generals V+V or atleast most of them. but enemy generals can keep secrets and if u uncover one such secret about an enemy leader (such as a secret perversion) if this would become well known then it might start a civil war within the faction.

The exposure of those unknown vices r only for enemy generals or kings. U can lower ur enemies' subject happiness if u manage to discover new vices of the leader.

Somewhere, a guy did make a story about a single spy discovering a major peversion to the Mongol Khan. This made a civil war happen in the Mongol ranks, thus saving its Russian butt, that was heavily kicked by the horde...

Cool feature, but doesn't work 100/100 of the times.

I don't think so. Aren't some of them hidden, like secret perversion and secret blackmailer -- you know, the ones that don't yet affect V & V because they haven't been discovered yet? I know that you see these on heirs and on your king, but I always assumed that they were hidden on generals until they broke into the open and became more serious. I haven't checked this so I could be wrong, but it would make sense.

heh... sounds like a divided horde

as far as your own generals are concerned it will say something like "secret pervert" or something like, meaning you should be wary other spies might make it known

I prefer inquisitors. Burn them at the stake, rather than just running an expose in the local rag http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smokin.gif

You can always see all the hidden Vices of your own men, they are the Secret versions of normal Vices. Only Inquisitors and enemy Spies can bring out those, and the Iquisitor can only find the religious Vices (and he causes a fair deal himself, try out on a Pope and get a Secret Atheist Pope). So your own men a pretty safe, I have yet to experience the AI finding any of my Secret Vices, while I have been rampaging their generals and royal families with my Spies.

I thnk thsi was one of those late development things as the manual does give the impresion that you can use them on your own generals..

But, you automatically see your lads V&V.. If it says secret, it means an enemy spy has not discovered it yet, so while he has the secret vice, he does not suffer the conaquenses until it is discovered and is no longer secret.. Thus giving you the opportunity to "deal" with them is necessary..;)
