With V&V, are the bonuses or penalties really reflected in the viewable stats?
I had assumed so until I saw a general with a +2 acumen virtue with only 1 feather, and no other modifiers. Either the V&Vs are not reflected, or there are hidden ones that are too - either way its kind of screwy isn't it? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif
Are you sure that he didn't have another vice (such as lazy) that detracted from his acumen? Sometimes virtues and vices counter each other -- such as fearless +2 valor and lazy -2 valor (I think it's -2). The number of feathers reflects the overall stats, after additions and subtractions from V & V's, plus the effects of any offices the general might hold.
I have noticed the stats that are read include the V&V. For example if you have a person with the attacker virtue he gains a star when you move him to attack and losses it after.

Have you patched??
I am pretty sure that is something that was resolved in the patch....

Hmmm, I am patched, and I did check all the V&V for the dodgy General, but I can't find him now - it was about 20 years ago, perhaps he fell in battle. I'll keep an eye out for a similar situation...
