This has to be a strong contender for THE GAME of THE YEAR base on the graphics alone for a strategy/tactical historical game HOLY ROME http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/eek.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/eek.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/shock.gif

Btw i believe there is also a RTW wanabe call Praetorian by Eidos and sorry to say this but the grahpic of that game seems to be centuries away from RTW. RTW is gonna kick its @ss away handsdown. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Didn't you buy the magazine? It's been out for a while now.

That is NEVER going to play on my laptop. I'll have to buy a new box..... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif

Should be worth it though. However, it's a tough pill to swallow to shell out $2500 for a game....

Erm...

You might be OK.

Rome: Total War runs fine on my PIII/900 with a 32Mb GeForce2Go, although admittedly I do have 512Mb of RAM in there too... This is the same machine as I used during my time on Medieval: Total War and I'm still using on Viking Invasion. There haven't been any problems with any of those titles.

I even got a 35+fps frame rate on non-optimised code too

My god PIII/900... Then I don't have to do much more than buy some RAM COOL I hope you keep it down there.

I'm more impressed with those cities... ohh man, there is soooo much to burn down, so much to pillage. Yes it is going to be fun to be a barbarian

Sexy. I find it hard to beleive this will run acceptably on a slower machine. Seriously speaking, there are a lot of actors on-screen - how on earth is this being done?

Low poly models with high quality textures.

I'm still expecting a P4 with a Radeon 9700 Pro as minimum spec when it comes out though. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/eek.gif

Medieval didn“t run sooo fine with my GeForce 2MX until I bought a GF4 TI4200(1280*1024 http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif ). But as long as Rome will run fine with this card, I will be very, very happy, I think. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Woah, certainly looks impressive. Thanks for this, I could never seem to get my hands on that issue. Looked everywhere, couldn't find it. This is gonna blow all other RTS's away so bad. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Such a cruel world when we have to wait for that lovely looking game to come out... time to develop a LOT of patience http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

My only question would be: the article indicates you play a Roman faction striving against other factions for power in the Senate while also battleing external forces... does that mean you can only play as Rome? Not that I'd complain, mind you http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Cheers.

What can I say but wow
If R:TW plays half as good as it looks, then we're in for a real treat. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

That's the same laptop I'm running now. Actually, I'm on a 1.2 If it can run on that, then I feel a bit better.

Great

Just post your credit card details here and i will order you a copy.

Of course for providing such a kind service I will require a small amount for miscellanous expences. this small amount will not exceed your credit card limit http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Finally we get a 'city view' http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
And a very handsome one at that.

After RTW they gotta re-do Shogun or MTW with that engine.
