View Full Version : A guide of units?
I have read lot of times many threads here where the ppl have problems to know the statistics of each unit of MTW (moral, charge bonus, valour, etc)
If u have played to Civilization (Sid Meier) u have to know that there u have a Great Library in the same game with all the capabilities of each unit. For me it was really useful, and also think that CA can add that to their news games. I suppose its too late for VI but think it could a nice idea with RTW.
Any comment??
One might also argue that making to much out of the comparison of stats would reduce the realism. In reality you couldn't assign numbers to your men's capabilities. Instead you based their value on your and other's experience with them on the battlefield.
On the other hand you do get the actual stats of the units on the battlefield through F1, so I suppose it would be silly to make them inaccessible on the strategy map.
If the stats are to be made properly available, then I wouldn't do it as in Civilization, where you only see one unit at a time. I'd list the units in a table similar to the one you get with F1, where you could filter units to only see some of them to better compare them, sort by stats etc.
Well, u can get this list from a tool made be Magy (if im correct), its very useful and u can compare 1 units vs each other.
But what i wanna say is that it could be nice to have a place in the game where u can read a sort history of each unit also with their statistics.
Anyway, thx for ur comment http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif

Ingame unit encyclopedia would make up for the lightweight manual...
At the least it could be a browsable collection of the unit info sheets.
Preferably with filtering, stats and a bit of comparison. I'm not a stats comparer but every now and then it helps to just check if its just your imagination or there is something helping a particular unit.
It's gotta be reasonably graphical because I can't cope very well with a big spreadsheet...
