Monk
02-16-2003, 04:58
In 1135 Armies were seen marching from Byzantine Lands. A Mighty Force poured out onto the lands of the Turkish. in 2 years the Turks fell and the Byz Strenghtened their positions. Soon after the Byzantines Marched into Egyptian Provinces. Fierce battles raged all along the borders. but the Egyptian Camels and Berbers were no match for Byzantine Infantry.

many years passed and the Byzantines went without defeat. marching all across the southern Kingdoms. The Egyptians soon fell under their Millitary Might, and it didnt take long for the Almohads to become the next target. the Emperor of Byzantium Smiled as his dream of Reuniting the Old Roman Empire seemed to be coming true. Even the Strength of the Holy Roman Empire (wich had yet to lose a war) Was soon thrashed and crushed beneeth the Byzantine's Forces. but a lone King Rose up who would defy their Will and decide the fate of the world. Hisa name was Monk

Monk had his own Dreams. He wanted to Stop the so called "New Roman Empire" before it could trample over the Papal States and Kill the Pope. the Italians had a vast force under their control so the Pope was guarded from any type of attack.

Monk led his army into battle against the Byz for the First time in the year 1157. his Fuedal Man-At-Arms and Longbowman were able to Punch a hole in the main line of the Byzantines. As his Longbows rained death from the air Monk ordered his Fuedal Knights to make their charge on their weakened lines. The Byzantines broke formation and fled the field. The seemingly "Invinsible Romans" were now on the run. After the First Victory Monk launched an Assualt on Byz lands on all fronts. His Main force drove right through the Byzantines, his other Generals had a more difficult time but they eventually broke through.

Monk laughed as to how an army of this kind could Defeat the Might of 5 Empires (Turkish, Egypt, Almohad, Hungarian, HRE. ) his Drive was soon stoped by the full Force of the Byzantines who had launched a counter attack. monk was not prepaired for this and his army suffered many casualties. but he regrouped and struck back within 2 years. his reformed troops again broke thro the Byzantine Lines. however suffering many casualties.

It seemed though as Monk fought them in Europe the Spainish drove across North Africa, riding down the Byzantines African Force with little trouble. after many years of war the Byzantines were on the ropes. Monk agreed to peace with thim. he also convinced the Spainish to cease their attacks.

By the time was restored peace to the world the year was 1190...war had ravadged the lands for 55 years. trade was good and farming prospered. it seemed as if things would be quiet for a while. in 1190 the English Empire covered all of France, former germany, Former Hungary, Former Poland and its borders stoped at Greece and Bulgaria. it went north as far as the Novgoradian people, who had manadged to stayed out of the wars.

Peace reigned over the Land for a number of 40 years. minor conflicts arose but none major. Life was fine, all untill 1230.

in the year 1230 Mongolian Hordes apeared the Byzantines were the First to fall under them. English forces were caught by surprise and sufered many losses. Down south the Spainish went unnoticed...for the time being.

The english soon rebounded and assualted the Mongolian army. Man at arms, fuedal Knights, and Longbows all atacked the Mongols. In this War Monk was not here. he had passed in 1207 he left his son to take the throne. The English Force Met the Mongols and many battles followed, The KIngs Army met wqith the Mongols bet general...

As the English entered the field they spoted the Mongolian Army. It would apear so numberless that it struck fear into the hearts of the English troops. as the battle began Mongolian Horse Archers and MHC charged across the field. Longbowman opened fire upon the GH. many died in the first volly and still more came. the knights of the English road out and confronted them in open battle. the Mongols were slaughtered and STILL they came. The English advanced upon a hill for a better position, Longbows continued to Fire as the GH continued to come. it apeared no matter how many the English Killed, The Mongols just keeped coming. the English fell back.

"FALL BACK" was the order thought the Empire as the GH advanced. this continued for 5 years untill the English King died and a New King was crowned. The grandson of Monk declared that all Troops would stand their ground everywhere. as this would happen, it helped the English, Battle after battle was won and They no longer feared the mongols.

The King of the English marched his main force against the mongols main Army. and the Finaly battle Began. either the English would succeed and peace be restored...or the mongols would win and they would be free to ravadge the Lands.

Final Battle in Constantinople.

Grandson of Monk: 2800
Mongolian Horde: 2900

The two armies were almost the same in number. as the Mongolians entered the field the English held their weapons tight. They made their finaly prayers and were ready to fight.the mongolians wasted little time and charged. Positioned on a high hill the English Longbows Riped Holes in the mongol formations as they drew nearer the King gave the order to attack. an entire wall of English warriors charged into the fray, slashing and stabing foes. the mongols entered battle with the English with great ferocity. you could tell the English wanted to run but stayed to fight. Fuedal Knights attacked the Mongoles on the Left Flank, while longbows continued to pelt the Gh with death falling from the skies. spearmen held up the right flank as horse archers who ran out of ammo charged in desperation.Foot Knights and Man at arms Fought to their deaths as the Mongols attacked withh no sign of letting up. even when renforcments arrived the Battle stayed deadlocked.

Charge after charge from the Mongol Calvery and still the lines held. Volly after Volly of Arrows from Longbowman, and still the lines held. the Englsih King led a force of Calvary moving in to the battlezone. the Mongolian Khan moved into position himself, as he charged a lone arrow hit its mark he died from a wound delivered by a longbow. the Mongols retreated as fast as they could. and they didnt stop untill they were back home in the Steppes.

The Spanish helped drove the remainder of them from Europe. Peace again was established over the land. the grand son of Monk had driven the Mongolian Hordes back.

As the English Soldiers returned to their homes, the King looked over the Fields on Constantinople, he saw the bodies of thousands of his men and that of the GH. he was victories but it came at a high price. He ordered all the Men be burried where they fell. he declared Constatinople a sacred ground for the English people and for all Christians. life soon returned to normal. the King of England Ruled over his domains in peace for another 20 years. in 1266 the English King died of a sickness. the World was at peace and would stay that way for along time....
