So I was play MTW LAN with a mate and we both realised that each game we were setting up saying "How much Koku" - "What do you rekon for Koku 10?20?" - "what do you think lots a koku"

and the other thing we realised is we werent about to stop even though we had been playing only medieval for the last year - our subconcious minds had no intention of changing from koku to florins - for us it will always be koku

what about you

Pre-decimalisation in the UK, we had coins called florins. They were worth 2 shillings (12 pence = 1 shilling; 20 shillings = 1 pound). There were also 2/6 (that's 2 shillings and sixpence, or 2 and a half shillings) coins called half-crowns, though illogically enough there was no crown coin and the term was never used instead of 5 shillings. Perhaps CA has an old wizened ancient like me in its currency-naming department?

[Disclaimer] The memories above are over 30 years old, so should not be trusted. I imagine things a lot these days. Now, where did I put my ring of power...?

actually I picked the next to last one well, because it's historically accurate, made in florence, used everywhere in Europe, end of story....... If you want to kall it KOKO or whatever in your subconsious because of your endless hours on Shogun, that's fine with us......

I think the real question here, methinks, is what the currency will be called in R:TW. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif

It should be talents. A talent is an ancient measure of Gold (the amount a man can carry).

Hopefully not Spartan talents? They were massive (size of grindingstones) Then I can just imagine my Lancers costing 5 talents.

Well , it appears from popular opinion that Im living in the past with my unhealthy attachment to the Koku money from STW - The community has moved on and Florins are it - Thanks for voting http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

now where is that cat - 'florins come here boy'
