I heard that these features will be in VI.
How will they affect sieges?

I'm not quite sure about flaming arrows (although I expect they will destroy siege equipement much faster than ther regular kind) but in MTW gates of castles are way too easy to destroy so to counter this CA has decided to place boiling oil above the castle gate. When anyone gets near them it's frying time Should be fun. Imagine seeing CMAA running around on fire being baked inside their armor. MUUWWAHHHAAAAA I can't wait. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Yup,gates are just too easy to take down, one thing I just can't understand is,if the gate is destoyed by artillery ,only it and not the surroundind wall will collapse.
The way it happens now is that only the gate is being forced open.
I think it should be forced open only when assaulted by non-artillery types of units.
Yeah with artillery attacking the gates is stupid because you spend as much ammo making a tiny door shaped whole as you do when tearing down 100m of wall.

Hmm... flaming arrows sound very nice but it would involve a lot of change, fire would have to be incorperated fully into the game and I dont think they will have it in VI, it will be in RTW or so ive read http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif The boiling oil is a very good idea, a great step in the right direction http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif

Flaming arrows could be used to provide smokescreens to restrict line of sight. They could also be used to set fire to woods and force out hiding units.
