Correct me if I'm wrong, but can a faction start two crusades at the same time. I'm currently playing as the almohad and I have two HRE crusades at my doorstep, one bound for algeria and the other cordoba.
P.S. I saved the image but i'm not sure how to post it.
It is in theory not possible for player faction to start 2 crusade. But the AI has that ability http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

I think the manual says something along the lines of ,"it is unlikely that the Pope will sanctions two simultaneous crusades for the same faction"
Implying that it is possible to have 2 crusades, but a rarity, I guess http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif
I started two crusades once. I had one decaying in the mid east somewhere that I forgot about and then started up another one. I tried it again later, but it didn't work. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/frown.gif
maybe it's possible if you have a new pope

Tonight I was playing as the HRE and the Pope wouldn't let me send crusades anywhere for about 20 years. I wasn't excommed or at war with the Papacy, but I had sent out about 5 crusades in the last 20 years. Does the Pope put a cap on how many crusades you can do in a certain time period? I got myself allied with him later and then I could send them again, but I was crusadeless for a long time when I could have used them.
edit: woo hoo i'm a knight now.

I've posted this explaination before...
When you get a message from the Papist saying they need support in the form of a cursade against a certain faction, you can start a new crusade not matter how many you have going already. This crusade will also be free, apart from the cost of building the "cross," but it's first come first serve, the offer last a couple of years or until a faction sends a crusade.

When you pick up a cross when trying to starting a crusade, look for different colour highlight, red means achievement objectives, green mean free cursades. Also you know sometimes when another Catholic faction takes over a crusade's objective, instead of the crusade being disbanded it carrys on and ask the owner to hand it over? This only happens when the objective is one of the faction's GA.
Lastly, the AI follows the same rule as the player, there is no "cheating."
Spread the word, the same questions have been ask over and over again too many times...

If the Pope asks for crusades against "reprobates" then a faction is sometimes allowed to send more than one crusade with cost. When I was an excommunicated Italian factionl the Spanish pounced on my empire and sent 4 crusades thereby destroying my faction's strength, i got exiled to trebizond and formed my empire again.
