I downloaded the wes mod to help the AI. Now i cant seem to figure out how to get it to apply itself to the game after downloading. It is just sitting in my program files and i cant get it to do anything http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

Have you checked to see if there's a Read me flie in the .zip? Usually these Mods are unzipped to the MTW main directory

What you need is a program called Winzip which you can get from www.winzip.com. Don't use WinXP's unzip program unless you are prepared to cut and paste the files out of the subfolder that WinXP's unzip makes.

WesW's mod is zipped which is a common data compression format, and has to be unzipped to install. Start winzip, navigate to the folder where you put WesW's mod and open it. You then extract all the files making sure that the "use folder names" option is enabled. There is a readme.doc in there that explains the whole process and the mod itself. Make sure that the target folder is you MTW main folder since the files in the mod are referenced to the main game folder, and can only find their proper subfolders if unzipped under that. The unzip will make a folder called "Originals" which is what you would use to "uninstall" the mod by coping the files under Originals to their original places using the File Explorer included as part of WinXP (use right click on a folder or filename to get a copy/paste menu). Wes has not included an actual uninstall program.
