Help: 10k gc online

A friend of mine challenged me to a game (played on LAN). Flat map, 10k gc (florins)...

so you pros, some help here? On unitchoises that is...

country? what's best?

units? armour?

none of us (my friend or I) am too good... sure I read these boards and have played SP, but never against a human.

So, what works and doesnt? pavise arbalests a must? how about cavallery? and so oooooon...

is it smart to go with 8 easy to controll superunits or 16 harder to controll medium units?

Theres a guide to playing online that I'm particularly fond of http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif. The armies arent for 10k and are for v1.1 but maybe you should consider changing the florins and if not maybe someone who regulars 10k could give u advice.

ok my choice would be

1 alan merc calvarly for ur general no upgrades (keep him away from the enemy)

3 passive arbalests (3 valour)

4 Militia seargents (valour 4)

4 gallowglasses (valour 2 1 weapon upgrade if possible)

4 Holibars (also highest valour possible but get at least 2)

thats an english army

use the militia and gallowglasses as a strong infantry line and try to get at least 1 unit round the flanks and extend that 1 unit into a single line and charge their rears (garaunteed to rout any unit)

use the pavs to keep any of his ranged units at bay and if he has not dont just charge in, pepper them to death.

use the holibars to counter anyother cavarly and since due to u having 4 u should outnumber his calvary so flank.

after ur holibars win use them to flank infantry and or chase down routers or assasinate the enemy general.


finaly if things are hectic and u need extra support use those passive arbs as infantry (they are actualy pretty good in h2h especialy flanking as he nevers expects that)
