...Crand for the general saying his vanilla archers are better and shoot further than other archers? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif
just kidding crand
Seriously the Wes mod is really good. I didnt like a few things so i modded it to my tastes. The ai improvemets are great. Unfortunatly i had to unistall it to play online it would be much better if MP used a different stats area

never used a mod here... I'm afraid to try. Not that I'm bad with PCs or anything, just don't know how. Never sure what to choose, and the only MTW mods I've seen online don't have very good descriptors.

the better game mods are the kind that install and uninstall themselves. you can find some in the Dungeon. those are the ones i use.

Thanks - where in the Dungeon? On this forum, there really is no description of what said Mod does. Is there another place on here?

Check the Naploeonic Mod thread in the dungeon for info about the continuing work on this mod. A new unit Mod v1.6 was just made available look for the link on the same thread, NapUnitsBetav1.6 this mod also has an install-uninstall feature.
Go down to 'forum jump' at the bottom of the page and select 'dungeon' from the drop-down list. Try the WesW mod, it self installs and can be uninstalled and is excellent. Just put it in your Medieval folder and double-click on it.

They won't tell you how to get out so easy. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif
If you have spare disk space then make a second install
of MTW. Install the mod to one copy if worst comes
to worst then you just dump that copy of MTW.
If it all works which most do then
you will see why we do it.
If you encounter any problems with mods
for MTW, contact me and I'll be happy to
help.

Although I work in IT I'm a bit illiterate when it comes to PC's. Am I to understand correctly that you can download a mod and then choose to either play the modified game or the vanilla game (like in Civ 3)?
I've had bad experiences in the past when I modified Civ 3 but actually changed the main file so the whole game was changed and I had to reinstall. I don't fancy losing my save games, although I suppose I could always put them onto disc.
There's quite a few mods I want to try out aswell, but I thought I'd ask for the opinions of you guys first.
Cheers.
My mod is posted at my webpage, which is listed in my sig. The readme is also posted there, so you can read a detailed description before, or while, you are downloading it.
With the Clickteam installer, there is really no way to mess up your game. I don't even think you have to put the download in your Medieval folder; just dl it anywhere and click on it, and it should find the correct folder, assuming you installed the game to the default setup.
I guess you would want to remember where the installer is, as that will be where the uninstaller is created, too. Simply use the uninstaller to restore your original files for MP, then use the installer again for SP. It takes about 2 seconds each way. (Or of course you could find someone else with the Medmod and multiplay using it.)
