I had my first civil war tonight - but what got me to post was that EVERY SINGLE BATTLE was in winter - with snow on the ground all over Europe (I'm Egypt, have most of Eastern Europ to Prussia, Wallachia, Poland), and even snowing in Constantinople and Algeria
Is this a common occurrence? I've had the occasional battle in the snow before, but not a dozen in 1 turn

I've actually never had a battle during winter in SP.

I fought a battle in the snow once and I ended up losing because I had a bunch of gunpowder units and they couldn't fire because of it. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif

Supposedly a bug, but I do not know its specifics.
If you have 4 or more battles in one year, the 4th one is in snow and so are all the rest. Not a bug.

Ahh..I didn't know that.
I guess that might explain it - it was a loooooong turn with a lot of battles and maybe I forgot the first 3? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I have a cunning plan.
What is it Baldrick?
Well rather then us all freezing to death in this ice age or starving to death because we have no food as we had no summer, I think we should have a turnip soup festival.
Baldrick you just stated we don't have enough food. I think what we should do is seize all the grain stores and kill anyone who tries to take the food for themselves.
Can I have the turnips my lord and make a rat roast to go?

L O L Blackadder is damn funny. Rowan Attkinson is great.
I have never had a winter battle before. And I KNOW that I have had more than four battles in a turn. I'd like to fight in one tho in SP http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smokin.gif

I've never ever had a winter battle. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/frown.gif Am I hallucinating or did we have them in Shogun? Because I have vague memories of me marching Shimazu troops and fighting battles in snow. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

Turns in Shogun were divided into seasons, aka if you attacked in the winter you had a winter battle, if you were attacked in the spring you would have a spring battle. Remember how you just could never wait for Autumn when the koku came in?
