Whats the highest valor your unit/general can get?

the highest I've ever gotten with one unit was 12 and with Kataphraktoi

I've gotten an 18 valor unit once. Note that the natural cap of valor is at 9, but command ranks and virtues can allow it to exceed the cap during a battle. So my general had 9 ranks, which gives I think +4 valor and he had virtues which gave him +5 valor and of course the natural valor of 9.

command is his stars valour is his fighting prowess during a battle

the two arent related if im correct.

anyway 9 star FuedMAA with 14 val but he lost a lot when i retrained his unit (he only had 11 men left)

For each rank, it gives all units under his command:
+1 attack
next rank is +1 defense and +1 valor (but not morale, so it isn't true valor but they up the valor display since it is similar effect as valor)

and it keeps alternating like that for each rank.

I thought that the general of an army gave his unit a valour bonus equal to his command, and all other units in the army a bonus of half his command, rounding up, I think.

18 valour.......should we try and see if that can get any higher?

If that would be true, troops under the command of a 9 star general would have +9 attack??

As far as I know all troops in his army will get +1 valour for every two stars the general has got.

You misunderstand my post. It alternates between the bonuses. You don't get both attack and defense at once.

To clarify, although I'm not sure if it starts at rank 0 or 1, but anyway

+1 att
+1 def +1 valor
+1 att
+1 def +1 valor
etc.

Alternates this way for each rank. Also, the +1 valor isn't a true valor increase. It doesn't provide additional bonuses over the +1 def. It's just to up the number on the F1 screen. They simply up it to display a valor increase because it has similar effects of valor but without the morale increase.

The general's command only affects valour

You can't. 18 is the highest. 9 from unit experience + 9 from the generals command.

I've had many nine star generals and I've never seen nine valor units out-of-the-box just from being under his command.

I wonder if one can unite in one army two 9-star generals with various valour bonuses and get a huge valour plus to one of them? E.g. we have a 9-star general with his own 11 valour. Then we add another 9-star general with +4 valour increase. So can we get one 9-star general with 11+4=15 valour on the battlefield? Anf if he has any virtues which can increase his initial valour to, say, 11+3=14. Plus valour bonus from 9-star commander. So we get 14+4=18 valour.
I think it's possible. Unfortunately I'm working now so I can't test this theory. But it seems to me very possible.

I think only one general has an affect on each army.

Do virtues count to that max?

That isn't true. No offence to him but he is terribly misinformed.

Anyway, from what I've seen I think virtues can take valor even further. The 18 valor general I had had 9 stars, which gave about +4 of the valor over the natural 9 he had, and also had the "Murderer" virtue/vice that gives +5 valor. I think it could probably go even further if he had other virtues like Might/Famous Warrior (+2/+3), Pride/Secret Pride(+3/+1), and/or Argumentative/Secret Bad Temper(+2/+2).

Looks like a tie...I had one general get up to 18 valour...of course it was after bludgeoning his retinue of Royal Knights, leaving him the sole survivor of the battle. I'm amazed that some of you have gotten up to 14 with most of your unit in tact Good job

Other bonuses aside a 9 star general would show an increase of 4 in valor - not 9.

I've never really payed too much attention to this figure, but in my present game I have a culverin with valor 7 - not too impressive I guess, but this could get up to 11 with the right general.
