I made a search on this, only found two threads, both rather old and none giving any answer. When I used to visit here more regularly this qustion was debatted rather frequently, to no results. Have modern since brought us any closer to an ansver? What effect has the Chamberlain on provinces or the nation? Does it only grant loyalty (and accumen/command...) or does it actualy have a usefull effect? The buildings that grant theese titels seem a bit expensive if all the ydo is grant 2 loyalty and one command. There are provinces that grant better. So, does anyone know anything about this?

[Edit] Cant change the title can I, just noticed it says Hoe instead of how [Edit]

They can be awarded in addition to Land Titles, so you could have the Duke of Wessex who is also the Admiral of the Fleet..(or whatever) the right province/title combination can give an awesome bonus to an already very good general.

Yea I know, but the good provincial titels I tent to save to the really good genereals. But if you can get 2 from a provnce and two from a offices of state you could take a poor general and make him grat of cource. Anyway I was kinda hoping for more, a provincal governor affects the province too, why shouldnt a general with a office of the state affect the state?

The Office of State: I suppose you are talking about the titles such as Archbishop of Lund, Commander of the Fleet, Admiral of the North,... that are given by the certain building. These titles act as a special bonus to boost the stats of the general receiving the title. The general stats then effect the task he is performing.

- Archbishop: +2 accumen, +3 piety (leave out the loyalty bonus). Best given to a Governor of a key money making province. However, if the Governor already has 7 or more accumen, then the title should go to someone else.

- Admiral of the North: +2 command (also leave out the loyalty bonus). Best given to a potential army leader to boost his command. When the general command is increased, the troops under his command will fight better.

- Gorvernor: stats of the Governor will directly effect the province he is governing. Edit: try to appoint Governor ASAP because if you build buildings in the province, the Governor will get some good V&V that will make him even more effective.

- Some Governor titles give accumen or command bonus. The accumen bonus can help a general with 2-4 accumen becomes a better Gorvernor and help you make a little more money from the province. The command bonus can be given to an army commander if the province is not a money making province. Once in a awhile, you would get a guy who would be efficient in both Governing and Commanding.
