Ok, you are online, so the registration precess worked for you.
Now there's a load of people having problems with this. As I don't have a copy yet, could any of you please describe how you registered to play online?
Post a detailed description in the tech Forum please.
Thanks.

Yeah I don't see what the fuss is about. You do it the same way you did the old one.
First you register the game after you install it.
Next, you enter the game then select to register via the Multiplayer menu.
You're then taken to a different registration server which makes you put in a user name then you fill out the same info you did for the game registration.
Next you'll be off to make your player name and clan name, or you can join an existing one if you know the name and PW.
This is where it may have got confusing for the oldtimers. The Warlord Edition and Mongol Invasion Expansion use a new server that doesn't have your old names or clans on it. So now you have to either put in your old name and clan or you can make a new one. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif
After that's done you'll need to submit the forms and it will tell you you're done. Exit out of the web based registration and then return to the game.
Put in your CD-Key for WLE/MI and then pick the family name you chose for registration, then type in your player name and password.
Whoala!
Get online and play some battles. The server should update within 24hours with your new clan and player names.
What's great now is that you can see everyone's honor values in the lobby next to their names. Glad they did that at least! http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/wink.gif

Thanks Daimyo.
I think there's another way they can go wrong. Particularly if after installing the game they don't register, thinking they can register later when in the game with Multiplayer - Register.
Let's see if this helps them. Man there were hundreds with these problems in Shogun, looks like another deja vu.

Nope, I registered online again with MI installed. Registration was accepted, attempted to play online and got an invalid CD Key error. Tried the MI key and tried the STW key, no go on either one.
Even got my own name and clan back on the registration page, which is where I was originally thinking the problem was for most people.
Hmmm, I wonder if all the people erroring out on invalid CD key are all MI upgrades....
