how do u get to irland form england i dont have a clue

This confused me too when I first started. You have to have a ships in the irish sea, and possibly in the north sea and english channel, depending on which provence you are moving the troops from. Then you need a port in the provence where your troops are- and just drag them onto ireland. Hope I wasn't too unclear there. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Seriously, tho': build a port in Wales, get a ship into the Irish Sea, buildup an army in Wales & wait for a port to appear in Ireland (it takes awhile; keep checking). When the port appears (in Ireland) - attack.

There`s no need to wait for the independants in Ireland to build a port if you are attacking with an army, only if you are sending a strategic unit (princess,diplomat etc.) there.
Of course, if Ireland does not have a port when you attack (and it`ll usually get destroyed anyway) then you`ll need to build a port there to get your army back out.

You`ll need a ship in each zone that connects your port to Ireland, then, the following turn you can pick up your army (which should be in the provence with the port) and drop it on Ireland.

Remember as Sir Crashalot says, once you land your army on Ireland or most other islands in the Med, you cannot transport them off till you defeat the enemy and build a port. So don't use your king as commander, if your homelands are cut off from your king they will rebel. Don't use your best general either, it shouldn't be necessary to take Ireland. As soon as you conquer the island build a port.
