Multiplayer Crash

I would be grateful for some help here...

I get continually get booted out of MTW Multiplayer after a few minutes being in there. It shuts the game down and returns me to my desktop.

i saw a similar post on this site - suggestion was to use netmedic to monitor modem performance. However, no version available for XP

Very annoying prob - I have already managed to upset most of the MP players by ignobly dropping out of the game unannounced....

Win XP, Dell Smartpc 250N 512MbRam, 2.4Ghz, ati radeon mobility. 56k Conexant internal Modem (dial up).

Any help would be most appreciated. Perhaps the chap who posted before could let me know how he resolved his prob??

Maybe it has something to do with your ISP...

A fine and well thought out hypothesis - it may well be something to do with my ISP (some elaboration here would be appreciated).

btw when the game crashes I remain connected.

If anyone can put me in touch with RSPETE (aka Steve Khazon) - I have seen a post that he put up a week ago in 'Apothecry' - he had the same prob - perhaps he solved it?

Do you have the patch installed? Is this a notebook PC you are playing on?

Thanks for your reply - Yes I do have the patch installed - and yes it is a notebook (Dell SmartPC 250N).

btw - I no longer suspect my ISP - I have tried another ISP and get exactly the same problem.... CONFUSED

Another development - If I am using another App and leave MTW signed on in MP, I get the You Have Been Disconnected From The Server error message (as opposed to the game being closed down.)

All help will be very much appreciated.

I get that msg 'you have been disconnected from server' too when I leave MTW for more than 5mins. I thought it might have something to do with me not having enough RAM to run MTW in the background. But Im not a PC expert so cant really help.
