Well,
I finally got my response back from the EA shop and it seems that the reason my MI hasn't been shipped is due to ups problem.. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/frown.gif So I'm either stuck with buying the warlord edition this weekend and simply refusing the package when it gets here to get my refund, or wait till the middle of next week to get my MI edition. Is 20 dollars worth the wait???

PS... for those who have the warlord edition, does it come with a new serial number? or for those who have the MI edition, does it also come with a new serial number?

The MI edition does have a new serial number.

DarthGuru,

I buy Add-On only(MI), don't know Warlord Edition.
MI came with new serial number. And, once you install it over
the old one, you don't need old CD, just use the MI CD to play.
Also,
You need register the new server for MI to play on-line games.
You can register same name as b4, but need log on with Serial
number that came from MI (not old Shogun).

I put my order in on monday i think... I emailed them on thursday after seeing that in the status, that it still hasn't been shipped. Then I called in and complained after I got the reply email earlier today.

Anyways new question for those who got the warlord edition then.. Is there two serial numbers one for the original STW and one for the expansion part?

Anyone got an answer to that one? What happens if you want to play regular Shogun on the old server after installing MI/Warlords? Do you have to change keys?

I'm going to give it a shot tonight so I'll post my experience unless it's already been done.

Hmmm, you may save your time for this. 8-)

Once you installed the Add-On over the old Shogun, you just
can log on new server, there is no way to go back the old
server.

But if you missing guys on old server that much, you need
to install "Another" original Shogun into "Another" Folder
then patch this "Another" original Shogun to 1.12, then go
back the old server to meet old friends.

That is, if you want log on both Old/New Server, you need
2 installed Shogun in your system so far,

Old server, old Shogun patched 1.12.,
New server, old Shogun with Add-On installed.

wow.... I checked in today, and they still haven't sent my copy out.... I'm so angry !!! I sent an email to EA cursing how could they do this to me??

They made a clean break with the past, and how long do you think they will keep the old server running? Don't answer this. It's a rhetorical question.

I'd give it a little longer to arrive. I went on the new server tonight (Saturday) at 9PM eastern time and no one was there. A little earlier in the evening there were 7 people there. I haven't seen more than 10 online at once yet. I wouldn't say the place is flooded with eager new players.

Well they will have to put the servers together as there is not a big enough player group to support both. They have to release the patch so people can play each other.

Well,
I'm sad to hear so many people are dissappointed about so many things. But still I would like to try it myself. Anyways all I can do is sit and wait. One of the most disappointing things I've heard about the xpac is how the two servers are split. I hope they can combine it somehow. Anyways I gave ya an email Magy. what about the rest who arent getting it? They said that everone was going to be on the same server or was this just some mor bullshit from EA.

I just went to the new server at 1:30 AM Eastern time, and there are 28 people there. I guess everyone got in from their Saturday night out.

Phoenix,

I don't see how they can update STW without including MI. MI seems to be highly integrated into STW. I'm not saying it's impossible, but I'd be very surprised if there is ever a free patch released that gets original STW owners on the new server. I know CA/DT said they would release a compatibility patch for the original game, and it would have the editor in it as well.

Well they said they would be implementing the new features for the chat room and that you could play against people with MI. It wont effect me for very long only unil I can get the expack but there are others like Eurosan who said they wont get it what happens to them?

But I know it will be hard to impossible to combine servers, but they should really think of that as an option. anyways I'm still waiting to get mine and I hope to see you all there.
