View Full Version : Can you change what kind a unit the Kings In?
First off I'd like to say I'd normally post this in The Dungeon but due to some whacky registering error I cant activate my account. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif But I would like to ask if its possible through editing the startpos files or somesuch to make it so the kings unit is something different then what it is. I know that not all factions have the same royal units but I dont know how or if its able to what the units are ( I want the Burgundians royal unit to be Gallowglasses instead of Royal Knights cause I'm using them as the Irish)
thanks ahead of time http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif Cheers

http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif Hello Hasek.
Sorry mate part of the induction process to the org is that junior patrons only get to post in the Entrance Hall.
It allows the nicer patrons to look after the new ones and give them a chance to deal with the culture shock and time to watch out for sarcastic aussies. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Ola Hasek, you'll be in quicker than an Aussie can say 'Flynn'. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/shock.gif
You sure you want eire-men to be your guys from Burgundy? Might deplete B'gundy's wine stock (their only viable export). http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
Well the thing is that I find if keep the guys originally in Ireland... Gallowglasses mmm- er anyway, there too overpowering because I have to give them a ship or else its not much fun having to build all the up to them before you can do anything.
Naturally I tested it and found out its fairly easy to be passive aggressive (building 100 peasant garrisons for your provinces and then advancing steadily) and to take over most of England... so I figured I'd take away all but 2 units of Kerns, the GG's, and the Kings unit. This and beefing up some of the English garrisons would solve it I figured, but then I thought that just making the Royal unit GG's and keeping only 2 units of K's and 1 unit of GG's would be more fun (and much cooler IMO). The only problem was that I had no idea how to change the Royal unit from Knights to GG's. Anyway, all help is appreciated http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

That is a nice idea. I'd like to change my royal knights into Chivalric Knights.
