I remember reading that winter only occurs during the fourth battle in any given turn is fought. Unfortunately I usually don’t fight four battles a turn and the lush plains of Europe are starting to hurt my eyes. Is there a patch available that makes winter occur more frequently (such as every fourth battle regardless of turns), or if one does not exist can someone develop one. Can one of the moderators please move this into the forum where people talk about such things?

listen to the music, i think that decides when battles are fought.. there is music for winter and summer

Are you sure? I cant fight in winter anyway because I rely on my longbows a lot.

not sure, but it might happen.. i found out about the music files only yesterday, havent played a campagin since then... but if you listen, its winter when you hear the wind blowing... im going to run some experiments when my turks get further north
