I've just recently started playing MTW, and since I'm danish I want to play as the Danes.
I still play on easy level, so the game itself isnt that hard (winning battles etc etc) but winning the game seems pretty impossible. I've chosen to play with victory points and allready secured Homelands and Conquest objectives, so now I only get 5points each time there's a council.

Aint there no other victory objectives than those 2 playing as the Danes??

Best Regards

The Org would like to welcome MasterMnd to its forums.

I can't say regarding the Danes Glorious Achievement as I've not played them, but I do know that GAs can change over time with new ones appearing. Keep your Danes strong as soon some other faction will no doubt come knocking at your door.

Thx alot for the welcome.. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Now I cant remember the exact year I'm in, but so far my danish vikings have defeated entire scandinavia and pretty much everything east of the Baltic sea. Would have been more in a east/south way if it hadnt been for the Byzantines and the Golden Horde (GH have 20000 men in 1 area). So at the moment I'm waiting/hoping that the Byzantines and Golden Horde will fight each other to death, without including me http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif..

Welcome.

I think the aim for the Danes is to control North Sea trade. I'm not entirely sure what that is although I found that you can get pretty massive trade income. When I played Danes I found that any sort of military campaign wasn't worth it. On difficult level the risk of rebellions further weakens your forces, besides surrounding territory is hardly productive.

Hope that helps a bit, GL. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Definitely set up a trade route throughout the north and into the Med. Take Lithuania and then Kiev to open a route to the Black Sea, which will give you access to the Med. Don't go to war with whoever holds Constantinople or they will choke off your trade there. Try to dominate the sea with ships, then when you do go to war, blow your enemy's navy away. You dominate the sea, then the only way your enemies can get to you is overland. Build up a war chest of florins through your trade network, I had up to 2,000,000 florins, then go to war against select enemies, anyone leading you in GA points. Take some islands in the Med., from rebels if you can, and use them for ship building provinces to aid your trade network.

I decided to try my first game in GA too, I decided to be Denmark too. The golden horde have appeard now, its 1230 somthing.

Im losing in points all the time. I think its impossible to win by points so i started to take over europe instead.

If anyone know if its possible to win GA with points or do i have to take over the map. I dont just mean with Denmark now i mean with every faction

I usually finish up cleaning the map, because many factions are too annoying at sea, and the only way to have trade working is to clean up their land. Even my current game as the pope, I've been FORCED to wipe out Sicilians, Italians, and Byzantines will follow..... I'ts year 1180, And I'm pretty sure I'll conquer it before 1321, even if it's not my purpose.

Always the same complaint, after all : Diplomacy is screwed. No way to request peace. Snifff... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/mecry.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/mecry.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/mecry.gif

Hosakawa Tito --> Yea making trade routes really helps alot, and it also gave me another objective (To beat the Hansestadt trading union, I'm above 4000 florins and top objective is above 6000)...

On a other note is that the Golden Horde turned out to be a loudsy ally against the Byzantines, even tho they had the largest army for about 7 turns they got wiped out (proberly due to suprior tech). Leaving me with massive Byzantine forces on my eastern front, alltho their first attack (my 700 against their 1500) was repelled.
But now the spanish seem to be fixed at getting all of western europe, leaving me with 2 fronts which both have massive enemy forces againts em..

Well to win you could just wipe out all the factions with higher points than you http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smokin.gif

My first campain was with the Danes on easy, but in conquest mode so I conquored 2/3 of Europe getting a lesser victory because I got bored by then. So killing everyone else is possible with the Danes, (on easy at least).

Consider this then : If you're the leader of the country which makes that tasty breakfast pastry, what would stop u from doing nothing but eating ? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
