If you are installing the Mongol Expansion, then it replaces your old STW installation. You have to reinstall the old STW to a new directory. If you are installing the Warlords Edition, then that can install to a new directory leaving your original STW intact.

yeah i got the warlord edition and that install's just like a stand alone game with it's own directory and stuff. so if i play the old game i have to put in the old disk and the new disk to play the new game!!!

I must have done something wrong then, because after I installed the expansion I tried to play the original with the original cd, but it told me to insert the game cd and restart the application. Did I install it wrong?

Use the expansion CD. If you want to play both original and expanded, some posters have said that you need two installations of the game.

So install the original in one folder, then install the original and the expansion pack in a different folder? Because what I did was install the original and then the expasion pack and left the path as the default. How should I install it to play the old version, and MI?

Asakura Lord,

You have MI installed. Now install the old STW to a new folder. When the program location dialog box comes up, type in a new directory. Don't use the default. That's where MI is unless you didn't use the default when you installed the old Shogun the first time. Then you will have to apply the v1.12 patch to it. Make sure you type in the correct location for the old Shogun.
