From my exp either the demi-cannon or demi-culvern. Catapults seem to hit nothing more often than not. Still I think catapults are better than treb's or magonels

Huh... I'm not sure on that. I'm pretty sure it's the trebuchet, if i'm not mistaken.

For anti-personnel it has to be the catapult since it can turn in battle and the rock after hitting bounces along the ground inflicting further casualties on any in its path.
Trebs and mangonels are only good for attacking castles not against people.
How often they hit is determined by the units valor but they take out the enemies generals more often that not http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I don't really know what's best.

I use my siege unit's to break down the walls to a castle, then set it to Fire At Will, It will somtimes target Troops if there are no walls to hack down.

I use Trebuchete's in Sieges, All the other siege unit's don't seem to hit much.

My Catapult had missed 4/5 of it's shot's trying to hit a gate well within it's range, It nearly blew down the wall next to it due to it's bad accuracy.

no doutebly Sepatine crew they are sctully suppose to be artillary anti cannons (i think) and they have great aim with enough valour. dam things killed my general enough times.

I think catapults and serpentines have served my armies equally well.

Serps, undoubtedly. I use them all the time when i'm attacking over a river. Once they have 3-4 valour, they're pretty accurate. Once I'm sending guys over and the enemy gathers at the other side, I'm killin loads at a time.

All cannon are good at short range. Catapults, with their bouncing multiple hit potential are good at long range.

yeah the key to using these weapons is that the target should be not moving and in close formation prolly good for attack when you need to 'entice' an enemy of a hill

Havent played long enough to have reached the advanced cannon siege engines, so my vote goes for party the catapult and that other one (crossbow kinda thing). Cos if the catapult finally hits it mostly gets more than 1 kill, on the other hand the crossbow siege thing is more precise but hardly ever kills more than one...

But for sure is that the first cannon thing you can get (the one I currently can build), sucks bigtime unless its on very very high ground compared to once own forces (it bloody hell slammed down my own king dammit)... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
