Allied Coordination

how do you coordinate attacks with allies for example you want to attack a province with the help of an ally or visa versa no ones ever contacted me for military assistance

From what I've seen all such cordination is purely based upon luck, never had the option to ask my ally to aid me in a war....

there is no coordination method.
the only way (at least that I've found) is to decide if you want to go for it or not. after that, the faction with the biggest army gets the province.

if the ally is sieged and you release them from the enemy they will thank you.

It worked a bit better in Sid Meier`s Alpha Centauri. You could actually specify a city to attack in X amount of years http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/eek.gif

Too bad I got bored of the game after two campaigns or so.
