View Full Version : GA Campaign Score Bug

I've been reading a number of the posts on whats fixed and not fixed with the 1.1 patch.

To my knowledge, in version 1.1 there are two remaining issues: (there may be others but these ones seem serious)

Great Achievements Campaign - the scoring doesnt work properly.

Also alliances dont work properly (although as far as i can see they appear to)

The GA Score one is a real pity as I really love playing the GA Campaigns - much more interesting than just invading everywhere. I've not actually progressed far enough to get close to a win yet so i havent observed what exactly the bug is. But I did read somewhere (i forget where sorry ) that there was a work around to this problem. Something along the line of....

Launch crusade to capture a land, capture it, then let enemy retake the land, then crusade for it again and this time you do get the score Sounds a major pain but worth it to win the game i suppose. Can anyone confirm for me if this will work, or if there is another way to get around the problem? Also does this affect the Muslim factions in the same way?

Note: I know there will not be further patches (but maybe fixed in add-ons though) and I am not in any way flaming - I just was curious if there was a way to beat the problem with what we have now rather than gripe http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Finally, as far as I can see the Alliances do work. I have not yet been back-stabbed by any of my allies. Could someone explain to me what doesnt work as it should?

In GA, very often the only points counted are for Homelands; very frustrating if you work hard to complete some of the other goals. Only reliable work around I've seen posted is to hand total the scores.

Alliances may not be broke so much as unreliable; no big deal really...international politics is a lot of getting away with whatever you have the power to do. Biggest complaint I think was that the alliance system is not very interesting. You cannot move through allied territory or co-ordinate attacks, defence, shipping, or anything else really.

Game stoppers are the CTD bugs.

Thanks HopAlongBunny

When you say hand-total scores, I take it you mean each time period when a score is awarded you make a note of the score awarded and then total it up at the end of the game? Primitive, but effective I gotta admit http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
