Place a ship in each sea province between your province and Ireland, have a port in your province and viola. Should work fine, though unless Ireland has a port your army will then be stuck there till you build one. Also any faction that your at war with can block you with their ships.

hehe yeah this annoyed me very much aswell. ok i go though it in points.

1) you need to get a ship in each sea region around the provience you want to get to and you need a ship from the provnce your men are in all the way to where you wanna get too.

2) you need a port
