Tech issue: game resizes screen

Greetings. I recieved M:TW for Christmas and have really enjoyed it thus far.

The only real problem im experiencing is an issue where the game resizes my screen on the monitor.

When i switch from the strategy board to the battlefields and back, i am having to use the controls on the monitor to stretch my game screen back out to fill out the entire monitor display screen. This happens on a regular basis.

My system:

1Ghz AMD
640 MB RAM
GeForce4 4400 Ti
Windows XP
game running at 1028x768 resolution.
DirectX 9

I am using the unpatched version of M:TW as i have been hapving problems getting the pathc to DL poperly for some reason.

Granted, this isnt a major issue, just an annoyance really and wont stop me from playing. just wondering if anyone has encountered this and knows a fix.

(would have posted on the tech forum, but am barred from doing so for some reason.)

Welcome to the org VanDraegon.

Is your desktop resolution also 1024x768? If not, that may be why the system doesn't remember the setting. Try adjusting the desktop at 1024x768 and see if that helps.

As for posting, new patrons are restricted to the Enrance Hall for a few posts after which our good mods Gregoshi and Kukri will promote you to senior patron. Then you can post everywhere else.

Try installing new drivers for your graphics card (or re-installing if you already have the latest ones).

Yes, that is the resolution on my desktop as well. I use that as a standard for everything resolution.

I am running the most current drivers for my vid card as well. Dont know if i want to roll back to the old ones as i dont think the problem is that serious enough to worry about.

I'm unclear on your last response. Is the issue resolved or are you still having resizing problems?

Yes, I am still having the problem.

It doesnt happen every time so i am thinking i will just live with it.

I did get the patch installed properly last night, so perhaps it will be resolved now. I didnt get a chance to play much yesterday, but the one short bit i did, i noticed that the resizing problem did not occur.

Do you have both screens set to the same resolution?

Under options there is a slider for setting the res of EACH screen. Might want to check to make sure both are set to same reso

Yes, both the game and my computer resolution is set to the same(1024x768)

Thank you. Actually, i did DL it from that very spot last night and it installed just fine. When trying to update on my earlier attempts i was logging onto the gamespy MP site and trying to update from there and for some reason it always hungup or encountered an error.
