View Full Version : Some questions on Religion
It's my understanding that Zeal determines the religious fervanceness (is that a real word?) of a province. What are the effects of a province with a high zeal? If you build a crusade in such a province, will you get more initial crusaders than if you build a crusade in a province with low zeal?
I understand the part about the higher the zeal is,the more soldiers are likely to join crusades as they pass through your lands. Are there any other effects?

I can't say if high zeal in the chapter house province will yield more initial crusaders. However, other than crusades, if you have a province with a high zeal, your governor better have high piety or you may be in for some rebellion troubles. They will have low tolerance for a governor that is an unbeliever.
In a high zeal province more ppl join a crusade if i'm not mistaking
ah and another thing i found is they rebel more against you if you get ex com by pope

A Hello from Normandy to everyone first as this is my first message in this forum. And, by the way, excuse my appalling english please.
As far as zeal is concerned, I'm not positively sure about that but it seems to me that a crusade passing in your province will enrol something that N% of your troops there ( N being the province's zeal divided by 2).
That is 30% of the troops if the province's zeal is about 60%. Guess it won't be so much helpful to anyone. Or if it does, I guess someone else has found it out before. Still...

On behalf of everyone here, welcome to the Org David. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif And you are correct BTW.
Frederik (I greeted you elsewhere), have you confirmed that? I knew the higher zeal netted more of your troops, but I didn't know there was a known formula.
