Dating the Doge

So the new Doge of Italy is still single and looking for a wife.

Consider this-- he's the Doge of Italy. In my current campaign Italy has the biggest military and boasts the largest income. Our fleet sails from the Baltic Sea to the Black Sea. His influence is 6. Yet every time I send my emmisarries to nearby lands to try and tie the knot to crank out some heirs, and nadda

Virtues and vices are pretty much run of the mill, nothing that would affect the king getting married that I can think of... (Butt Ugly might be a nice new vice for the expansion... ditto for Impotent)... the Doge is a Natural Leader, a Drinker, and a Builder... nothing that should shun potential brides, eh?

Any ideas on what I could do?

Seriously, I don't know. Maybe it is the early stages of all the AI factions going to war with you. You know, that stage of the game where you can't get a cease fire to save your life.

In such a situation, how long will it take for the king to automatically marry one of the local noblewomen? or is the time involved completely random? Thanks.

I find most new Kings are in a rush to get married and do so within a year or two if no foreign princess is willing. I also find that when my empire is the biggest, it's difficult to marry off my heirs to foreign princesses. I suppose the other factions are not willing to do anything that might help you become even stronger.

Actually king marry noblewomen in their thirties so if you
have an 18 year old king who is unmarried it will be a long wait for hiers .

When you are the greatest power getting foreign princesses
can be a real pain .You either need sex appeal (still trying to figure that one out myself), or 60 emmisarries as
in my current italian game .... oh and my heir is
