Well first off I must say I'm very impressed with these boards, you rarely see such structured and controlled forums such as these. It's a nice change of pace. Anyway, I've been playing M:TW religiously for a bit recently and I have a quick question reguarding income...What is the best method of gaining high income? I'm playing as the Egyptians this time around and although they seemed to be excellent traders with their location, it isn't quite working out for me. Do you need to have a ship in every province of ocean? I can't quite understand how some people are having such high incomes while I remain in the 1K for most provinces....
thanks for the help
and another thing....

There are a few things that you can do.
The first is to make sure that you do have a ship in each sea area from different ports. If there are any gaps in the trade route, no income. To check if there are any gaps zoom out and then press V. Anything in green shows where you presently have a ship and by looking at the map and the various ports you can see where you need to move a ship too.
Secondly, build build build. I`ve found that if your king has a reputation as a good builder, this improves the finances and the happiness of the populace meaning more income.
Thirdly, make sure that when you hand out titles you hand them to people with high acumen levels. If you leave the game to assign titles automatically, it normally gives them to people with high command but this doesn`t necessarily mean they have high acumen. The higher the acumen, the more income can be generated.
Also, some provinces are a lot richer than others - antioch, eygpt etc with a bit of upgrading can produce a lot of cash.
Send some spies out and find out which are rich areas and can be invaded/bribed etc.
Good luck http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif
