View Full Version : Corrupted Menu Graphics
Whenever I use MTW on my new computer the menus have big white bands over parts of them, making doing anything in them nigh on impossible. Especially with the single battle option where a white band covers up the nation and money selection.
I have a P4 2.0a ghz with 512 mb DDR Ram and a Radeon 9000, I have updated the drivers of the Radeon to the latest official ones (no effect) and I am now using the latest Omega ones, which fix a lot of problems but not this one.
I tried to post in the tech forum but I'm not allowed yet lol http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/dizzy.gif

Hi BDC. Thanks for joining us.
I don't recall seeing anything about the problem you mention. Have you tried searching the Apothecary forum for references to Radeon? There have been a number of problems with them.
If nothing there fixes your problem, come back to this topic and include full specs - operating system, do you have MTW patch installed, etc.

You are starting to scare the hell out of me: maybe I should not have sell my old GF to order the Radeon after all http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/mecry.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/frown.gif
Anyway, I did not have exactly the same problem, although my load/save screen turns white several times when the red bar fills out... Not always though.
Hmm ok I have now reinstalled the game, downloaded the latest patch but it is still there. It seems to be a big invisible object over the top 1/4 of the menu screen, because on any of the menus it will make the text flicker and obscure my mouse, it is just more noticeable on some screens.
I can still see the background and the parchment, just the actual text and any pictures are obscured, although they appear as the parchment unrolls and flicker a bit. It's annoying because playing single battles is long and consists of clicking untill I hit an option, although the actual gameplay and campaigns are fine. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/frown.gif
Hmmm actually it's ok now, I searched again on the Apothecary forum and hidden in the middle was a little topic on this. I just had to tern vertical synch off lol, nice and simple, seems to be a driver issue. A bit annoying though as I will have to go into all the options now to turn it on for all my other games because they look terrible without it on http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif but thats life. Thanks for the help http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif
