just seen my first glance at rome tw

looks awesome with quite a few changes by the looks of it

20 odd units per faction including elephants, chariots and the use of fire as a weapon....hehe grins as he hurls burning pigs at the war elephants (always feed ya troops b4 going to battle)

fullsize cities with street battles http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif units can be garrisoned inside buildings for ambushes but beware buildings will burn now so it could end up as a barbecue to end all barbecues

sappers can undermine city walls or give your men ladders to try and scale em

seasons are back and time effects ..if the battle goes too long it gets dark, i presume this means night attacks can be used, wonder if this will give any attack bonuses?

to me this is the most innovative and exciting.... the map is no longer linear with the usual prov hopping, any part can be zoomed in on to survey the battlefield...meaning forts etc can be built at strategic locations, mountain passes and the like http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif, rivers are also fordable... hopefully will give the game a whole new strategic edge

new diplomatic settings including demanding tribute/territory from weaker foes, ability to move thru allies territory

well i think thats a most of the key points.......i cant wait this sounds like its gonna be the best yet, pass me another tissue to wipe the drool from my mouth please http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

It is quite exciting, but as I've been thinking about the features, I having some questions. My biggest concern that there are too many features - too many things to be concerned about. But, we shall see, shant we?

Yes, no-limits battlefield makes you think about how much manouvering will you be doing. It is like playing the campaign on the battle map in MTW.

Too much is as bad as too little. I hope that CA can pull this one off, and from experience I say that the guys know what they are doing.

BTW Alby, where is the info from?

Thanks for the info.
Waiting for the US/CANADA, Feb. edition of PC GAMER.

Apparently, CA claim that on the same system they get a better framerate on RTW than on MTW. They also claim to have lowered the minimum videocard specs to 4Mb; don't ask me how they pulled that off. However, a 1Ghz processor is recommended-sorry about your 850 Athlon...

There is a feature list and a translation of a German article on page 8 of this thread:
