Well, as it said in the title and subtitle, does it?
I've been told in MP that it doesn't, but that seems illogic, archers aim better with higher valor, so why should this be different for artillery?

I did some tests on custom battle, and my valor 2 serpentine did 80-ish casualties, while the valor 0 did only about 40-60.

But that guy sounded pretty sure of himself.

Thanks in advance

This is true, higher valour arty does have greater accuracy. I was playing with 1 piece of 0 valour arty, and 1 piece of 3 valour arty (Both Serpentines) and the 3 valour had nearly twice as many casualties inflicted.

Perhaps that other guy who swears it doesn't help is just trying to dupe you into not upgrading your arty for multiplayer games.

Very dubious and intelligent if I do say so myself. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

whoever told u a 0 val cannon will hit as many times as a 4 val cannon is a fool.

4 val cannons r commonly refered to as sniper guns.

I always suggest my opponents to bring as many canons as he could and always upgrade them to val4. That means less money for him to spend on troops that defends his canons. And he also will have the good tendency to call his canons precious and will camp, leaving allies fending off 3 armies.

My generals die 8/10 of the time, so it wouldn't change the game a bit if he dies by canonball or by charging into spears.

The above is only my NOOBle opinion, and I have an annual newbie license.

Hmm, this is good to know, since I always wondered. Here's another question, will upgrading the weapons on artillery make it do more damage, or simply make it's crew do more damage (which is basically pointless)?

I think the higher the valour the straighter they shoot. Ive did a few observations on custom battle and see valour 0 arty fly off and hit to the left and to the right. Whereas valour 4 arty would more times than not hit the specific point I targeted. The range of both were similar.

However usually people would have a stretched out line so a volour 0 arty not hitting the target would still hit some other troops somewhere else.
