I dont like the facr that you have no controll over wich hier will become king, I think you should be able to choose goverment type to feudal democracy whereas Kingship is not given by birthright but rather the king is choosen by the nobles, this form of government was present in periods in several european states, also kingship needed be limited to the hiers but any nobleman could be selected and the one with the best blend of accument, piety and such shold be choosen, or there could be several forms of this goverment type, each fokusing on diferent stats. or maybie Im just saying this because I would like this game to be a little bit more like CIV3 or EU2. That is I would like more peacfull ways of altering you nations destiny, any change that will graant more depth to the economic, diplomatic scientific, cultrual, political... aspects of the game would be wellcome if you ask me. Trade should be like CIV3 trade, Diplomacy should be more liek Alpha centauri, the changes to state policy one can make in EU2 is nice and I would like to see a thecnology tree not entirely based on buildings, the systmens used in CIV AC and EU are all good. Now dont think that I dont think that this is one of the gratest games ever, Its a lot more fun than CIV and the others, but thats beacuase of the battles, the Campaing shold be made much deeper.

Well yes, much of what you say would be a nice addition to MTW. However, really the strat side of the game is there to string good battles together. Also poor heirs are there to be killed off. There is no excuse in IMHO to have less than a natural 7 star king 100 years into the game, regardless of the inbred loser faction you start with.

LOL. I think someone is taking shots at the English royalty, and I would have to second that motion. For some damn reason a very high percentage of my heirs have inbred-related (ie. Odd number of toes, no chin, etc.) vices.

And yes, I like to take my less-than-perfect heirs on what I call Hunting Trips. I keep a neighboring province in control of the rebels for this special occasion. I take him into battle by himself and get him killed off. No more bad heir. And it's a fun little skrmish too, especialy when there are Kerns involved. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

thats why I wasnt interested in CIV, I dont want to play govt, I want strategy and battles thanks. I like it jus the way it is. If you dont like an elder heir, then dispatch him. If your line is weak, put your king in battle to make him stronger. democracy..pfft

The campaign could be made deeper, but the heirs system is fine IMO. Instead I'd prefer more options with allies, tribute, and some other diplomatic improvements.

That's the reason that I really had trouble getting into Europa Universalis II. The wars in that game are just so damn boring. It's the same with Hearts of Iron; War just isn't the meat and potatoes of that game. It's cool to fiddle with research and tech, but the battles are unfullfilling.

MTW almost grasps that nice balance between governent and war, but I feel that a little bit more complex system of relations with other countries could pay off. As of now it's a bit on the basic side.

I sold my EUII on ebay last month. Was just collecting dust. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I like battles I can see.

Did you ever get Hearts of Iron? It basically uses a heavily modified EUII engine. As much as I love WW2, I really just cannot get into the game. One of the biggest hate aspects I have towards that game is the utter confusion it's Real-Time engine puts on you. You're trying to do something, but you keep getting stupid pop-up windows and all that. Very frustrating. After a few hours of HOI, I need to retreat back to my castle that is MTW for some healing warfare and subterfuge. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Alpha Centauri's diplomacy was nice but even it got annoying after a while. No one will be happy until we can get real life diplomacy. And I suspect even that will be quite tiresome eventually. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif

And all most people want is a smarter leader. Smart leaders are a rarity. The AI is brilliantly simulating reality. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif
