View Full Version : Mods for a newbie
I was going through the download section and saw a couple mods that fixed some building requirements and other minor issues fromt the 1.1 patch. Are any of the mods standard or should I stick to the standard game first before messing with anything.
Seems like the Patrician mod is a good one for vets. Hopefully I'll get enough time on the game to figure it all out. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif

Hello there, Thank you for your interest in Patrician.
The Patrician mod was created for Noobs as well as Vets since it is in the form of a self install not requiring you to find folders and such. I tried to make it as simple as possible for the player noob or vet. Try it just make sure to backup your entire game folder before modifying it. It will save you time. Installing the game takes so darn long but just renaming a folder or copiying it reduses that. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smokin.gif

Greetings Frogman. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif Thanks for joining us here at the Org.
I think I'd play a few campaigns to get a feel for how the basic game works before moving on to a mod. Each faction has its own character, there are different eras and different religions. Also, I think after getting familiar with standard game, you will also appreciate what the mod creator(s) did to make their game.
