Metalsmith ?

Wondering if anyone knows if metalsmith weapon upgrades increase projectile damage, or of these only apply to melee.

I beleive that the weaponsmith bonus only applies to melee.

Yes only melee, I believe projectile lethality only involves the archer's projectile stat and defender's armour value.

I have been playing as if Metalsmith helps archers and such. Maybe they don't actually benefit from the weapon upgrade. Could be that F1 will give us a clue. Gonna go check right now.

A Parvis Arbalast with Gold Metalsmith upgrade has an attack bonus of 7. More later.

That doesn't answer my question definitively because I still don't know what his attack bonus would be without the gold metalsmith. Even if it were lower, however, I still couldn't be sure that this attack bonus applies to his projectile damage or just to melee ability (I actually have no doubt that the metalsmith increases melee ability of missile troops).
